The photo above depicts a mild flow of travelers as they exit the International Baggage Claim Area at the Jorge Chavez International Airport. If it is your first time in Lima, the crowds can be a bit overwhelming BUT we've done our best to to ensure you locate your driver with ease.
What You Can Expect
We believe that knowledge empowers people, or in this case, knowledge helps to lessen the fear of exiting into a sea of unfamiliar people in a foreign land. This is why we try to prepare you ahead of time to know exactly what and who to look for.
Here is how we do this. After your airport transfer has been booked with us we will send you the following to help you feel prepared:
In the event that you are not able to locate your driver we would ask you to look for the small booth, like the one pictured to the right, with gifts and balloons. Wait there and contact us immediately.
How much wait time is included with my transfer?
Your transfer service includes one hour of wait time from the time your plane lands. Of course the driver will continue to wait for you even after the hour has passed in the event that you have lost your luggage or another unforeseen circumstance has arisen. We do ask that you contact us immediately via telephone (if you do not have service, ask an airport employee to phone us), if you suspect that you will be held up. If you do pass the one hour of wait time we ask that you pay the driver in cash an additional $10 per hour to cover his parking expense and extra time (this applies to cars and vans, buses require a $20 dollar payment.)
How much luggage will enter in the car/van/bus?
Depending on the vehicle size, we suggest that each person bring no more than one checked bag, one carry on and a personal item. If you will have more than this, please email in advance to ensure you choose the right transportation option for you.
Are the prices for round-trip or just one way?
All prices are quoted for a one-way service. If you need a pick-up from the airport and a return on a later date, you must book two individual transfers.
Are the prices per person or per group?
You will see listed various pricing options, you will choose just one that coincides with the number of passengers in your party. In this way, the price is per traveling party, not per person.
Tips for a better experience
As much as we would like to live in a perfect world, we realize that we do not and that we should always be conscience of potential pit-falls. It is not the norm, despite all you have read in those travel forums, that tourists are duped in the airport and taken for an unexpected ride BUT you should always keep your whits about you in a foreign land. For these very reasons we try to prepare guests to know exactly what and whom to be looking for and hope that by preparing you in advance, everything will go very smoothly.
- NUMBER ONE - Have your driver's photo and a copy of the sign handy. Whether printed out or in an easily accessible folder on your phone, do not be afraid to compare it to the person who welcomes you as your designated driver.
- NUMBER TWO - You have the photo and a copy of the sign that your driver will be carrying, if you are approached by anyone who does not remotely look like the photo, or carry a sign identical to the one sent to you in advance, do not leave with them until you have contacted our office and have been reassured.
- NUMBER THREE - If your flight is delayed or canceled for any reason, please notify us immediately either by email or telephone. This especially applies to flights within the country as they are so short we do not have a lot of time to react and often times websites are not updated timely enough, you will have first hand information and if you can share it with us, that always makes things that process that much smoother.
